To apply for the Migrant Services Program you will need copies of the following documents:

The Migrant Services Program is funded by the Michigan Department of Human Services.  The purpose of the program is to provide nutritional, medical, educational, and other services that will meet the needs of the migrant population.  This program is designed to encourage migrant farm workers to maintain healthy lifestyles for themselves and their families by addressing crises early on, even though they may be facing economical challenges at the time.  These services can be prvided by our agency in conjunction with other agencies programs and services that service the migrant population when necessary. The Migrant Services Program helps economically challenged migrant farm workers with services, such as:  vehicle repairs & inspections, rental assistance, utility bill payment assistance, eye exams & glass repair, etc. 

To Qualify, a client must:

Have documentation evidencing emergency, such as: Vehicle Repair Quote, Eviction Notice, Auto Insurance Lapse Notice, etc.

Have a Vehicle Title, Vehicle Registration, Apartment Lease in their name.  Documentation may vary depending on assistance being requested

Show proof that MOCAP payment will resolve their emergency

Be at or below 125% of Poverty

Not  have received prior MOCAP assistance in last 12 months  (except Weatherization, Commodities or Senior Project FRESH)

Have at least one seasonally employed migrant farm worker in the home

Picture identification
Social security cards for everyone in the household
Income Verification for the Last 12 months for all household members, such as:
Income Tax Records - Employment Check
Stubs for employees - UNEMPLOYMENT STUBS -Social Security Award Letter - DHS/FIP Award Letter -W-2's and/or any other income documents

Auto Repair Quote, Auto Insurance Quote, Court Ordered Eviction Notice, Homeless Certificate from a shelter, etc. Documentation may vary depending on the assistance requested

DHS Decision Notice (if applicable)

Co-payment Letter from partnering agency (if applicable)

Live seasonally in Oceana County during farming season.  Clients serviced through this program usually migrate from Texas and other southern states to Michigan for the purpose of seeking seasonal employment
