Commodities/TEFAP Program

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is also recongnized as the Commodities Program.  This program is offered by Muskegon Oceana Community Action Partnership, Inc. on  a quarterly distribution basis.  This program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Michigan Department of Education.  The purpose of this program is to provide vital assistance to those in need.

To supplement the diets of low-income needy persons, including elderly people

To provide clients with emergency food and nutrition assistance - In Muskegon and Oceana Counties this assistance is provided on a quarterly basis

To qualify, a client must:

Agree to received quarterly food distribution

Be at least 130% of poverty or less if the Head of Household is under age 60
Be at least 160% of poverty or less if the Head of House Hold is age 60 or older 

Live in Muskegon or Oceana County and be able to show proof of residency

To apply for the Commodities/TEFAP Program you will need copies of the following documents:
Picture identification
Show Social Security card for Head Household
Income Verification for the Last 30 Days for all household members, such as:
Income Tax Records - Employment Check
Stubs for employees - UNEMPLOYMENT STUBS -Social Security Award Letter - DHS/FIP Award Letter -W-2's and/or any other income documents
